Today was my first full day at work with Sophie around. Bless her it was hard for her to let me work as she is not used to it. I felt mean chasing her away. It’s our new routine and I guess we’ll all adapt. In a few weeks I won’t need to do so much hopefully and can spend pockets of time with her.
So while I was working away learning new digital teaching methods. David and Sophie were having lots of fun. They made Angel Delight for tonight’s pudding (which Sophie later declared she didn’t like), they played in the garden and David cut the grass. David found out the kite we had bought years ago and they played with it in the garden. She didn’t want to go down to Brookfield’s with it. I think she is worried about being outside with these ‘germs’ she feels safe in her own house and garden but feels a little anxious.
Before dinner Sophie and I drove up to mums house to give her the new iPad which arrived today and I got set up for her. It was sad to see mum in her house as we were keeping our 2m distance, I could tell she just wanted to hug us. How glad was I that we did the trip as lockdown was announced tonight, and mum can now FaceTime us better and can chat to Allie and I at the same time.
